Makar Sankranti and Magh Bihu Bank Holiday 2026: Banks across several Indian cities will be closed today, Wednesday, January 14, on account of the Makar Sankranti and Magh Bihu, designated under the Negotiable Instruments Act, which includes both RTGS holidays and other regional and national holidays.

There are 16 bank holidays scheduled for January 2026according to the RBI’s calendar for the fiscal year 2026, including mandatory weekly days off on the second and fourth Saturdays, as well as Sundays.
