Dias signs fresh contract

Steven Dias and Mahindra United finally reached an agreement over the midfielder8217;s contract on Thursday.

Dias said he had decided to stick with the Mumbai club after they agreed to a salary hike that the player had been demanding having being offered a bigger deal by Kolkata8217;s East Bengal club.

8220;I have been given a hike and have signed a two-year contract. I am happy and will join the team from Monday. They have also promised to release me next year if a club matches the transfer fee Mahindra ask for,8221; Dias told The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, team mate NP Pradeep, also in the centre of the transfer drama, is yet to speak to the club as he is currently in his hometown in Kerala. 8220;I am hopeful things will fall into place after we speak,8221; Pradeep said.
