SUNDERNAGAR, June 18: The principal of Himachal Dental College today issued an order asking all students to join classes with effect from June 22.

According to principal Dr R.N. Mukherjee, students on college rolls will be allowed to appear in the regular examination to be conducted by Himachal Pradesh University and as such not a single day will be wasted, provided the students attend the college regularly hereafter. The result of first-year BDS (Supplementary) examination 1998 will be declared by HPU within a week.

The supplementary examination of second and third-year will be held shortly. The dates will be announced by HPU in the near future, Dr Mukherjee added.He added that every student would have to pay the annual fee due to the college within a week. The fee shall be in accordance with the fee structure evolved by a committee constituted by the government.

Meanwhile, college managing committee chairman Dr V.K. Gupta has offered a package to the state government keeping in view the future of 240 students.

The package proposes that the Himachal Dental College will remain at Sundernagar for all times to come, the state government should take up the matter to revoke the disapproval by the Centre, it should provide five acres on ownership basis to create infrastructure, a soft loan of Rs 10 crore be made available for execution of the project and the government should allow functioning of a new college at Paonta Sahib to utilise the facilities there.
