PATIALA, MARCH 4: The DCC Urban has taken a serious note of the Municipal Corporation8217;s move to initiate a police case against 25 women who ransacked the Town Hall on March 1.

Unit president Ved Parkash Gupta said here today the corporation had badly failed to perform its duties to serve the people. He said the city peripheral areas are facing an acute shortage of drinking water just at the onset of summer and the people are apprehending a big water crisis in the coming summer.

Gupta said the MC had got registered a police case against the women demanding potable water to meet their domestic demands. He cautioned the corporation authorities to change its attitude.

He further appealed to the authorities to withdraw immediately all cases against women allegedly involved in the ransacking incident.

The Congress leader said that a jatha of Congress workers would leave for Amritsar on March 7 to participate in the ongoing kar seva at Durgiana Temple.
