Ryanair on Tuesday announced a ‘Big Idiot Seat Sale’, which the airline said is available only for Elon Musk and any other idiot on X. Ryanair is widely known for its savage and sarcastic social media responses on social media to passenger complaints took a swipe at the world’s richest man after Musk floated the idea of buying the budget airline.

In a separate post on X, Ryanair said its CEO will “address/undress Elon Musk’s Twitter tantrum.

“Ryanair CEO, Michael O’Leary, has called a press conference at 10:00 tomorrow (Wed, 21 Jan) in Dublin to address (undress??) Elon Musk’s latest Twitshit.
“Musk knows even less about airline ownership rules than he does about aircraft aerodynamics”, said MOL.
Perhaps Musk needs a break?? Ryanair is launching a Great Idiots seat sale especially for Elon and any other idiots on ‘X’. 100,000 seats for just €16.99 one-way.
Buy now before Musk gets one!!!,” the post said.

Musk and Michael O’Leary had been locking horns on social media over the past few days, and calling each other ‘idiot’ in a spat that began over Starlink.

It all began last week after O’Leary was asked if Ryanair would follow Lufthansa and British Airways and install Starlink satellite internet technology for onboard wi-fi on its aircraft.

O’Leary rejected the idea, citing 2 per cent fuel drag, adding an extra $200m-$250m to its annual fuel expenses.

Musk, who did not take O’Leary kindly, posted on his social media platform X, asking if he should buy Ryanair.

On Monday, Musk followed it up with a poll on X asking if he should buy Ryan Air and restore Ryan as their rightful ruler.

Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline, was co-founded by three people in 1984, two of whom were named Ryan -Christopher Ryan and Tony Ryan.

O’Leary was hired by Tony Ryan in 1988 and became the CEO in 1994, a post he has held ever since.

On Musk’s comments about Starlink onboard planes, O’Leary described the Tesla CEO as a “very wealthy, but he’s still an idiot,” adding that he had “zero” knowledge of running an airline.
