
LUCKNOW, MARCH 13: CRPF Delhi and Corps of Signals, Jalandhar, entered the quarterfinals of the 20th all-India KD Singh “Babu” memorial invitation prize money hockey tournament, here on Monday.
In the first match of the day, CRPF dominated the proceedings through out. Customs’ Ram Bilas and Bharat Kumar played individual game most of the time and did not combine well with the wingers.
CRPF took the lead in the 26th minute when left winger’s Vencen Themram sent a pass to Mukesh Kumar, who made no mistake in scoring the first goal. Jolan Topno scored the second in the 32nd minute off a pass from Themram.
After the breather in the very first minute, Jolan Topno scored the third goal to complete the tally.
CRPF forced five penalty corners against two by Customs but both the teams failed to utilise any of them.
