Crackdown on smutty cards

PUNE, Feb 2: Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone I Ajit Patil today directed the Deccan Gymkhana police to file cases against the card shops selling obscene material for Valentine8217;s Day.

The orders were issued after the Patit Pavan Sangathana asked the Pune police to book the owners of the Seven Seas Collection and Hallmark card shops on Fergusson College road for selling obscene material for Valentine8217;s Day.

8220;Some of the prestigious shops in the city have stocked February 14 cards that carry obscene pictures and written material,8221; said Sandip Khardekar, joint organiser of PPS.
