GANDHINAGAR, Oct 5: Senior officers of the three defence services have emphasised that success in modern warfare largely depends on joint planning, training and execution of plans with proper co-ordination among the three services.

They deliberated on issues concerning inter-service co-ordination and joint planning at the two-day 14th Tri-service conference which concluded at the SWAC headquarters here on Tuesday. Lt Gen S Padmanabhan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, Vice-Admiral Madvendra Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Command and Air Marshal S Krishnaswamy, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of SWAC addressed participants on the security environment.
