Cong, Left talks on LS polls on

At the state level, PCC president Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was in touch with CPI leaders, the former chief minister said adding that a final decision on the tie-up would be taken by the central leadership.

The intention behind the proposed alliance with the Communists was to ensure the defeat of the BJP at the national level and the Telugu Desam in the state, Vijayabhaskar said asserting that the Congress was capable of fighting the polls on its own.

He pointed out that the Congress won in the state even when the Telugu Desam and the Left parties fought the elections together.

The CWC member attributed quot;ego and clamour for postsquot; as well as lack of communication as the reasons for the differences between party leaders in the state.

He said that the rift over CLP leader P Janardhan Reddy8217;s decision to launch a tour of Telangana from June 25 was caused due to misunderstanding8217;. quot;The differences between the CLP and PCC will be a closed chapter. In future, there will be no scope for any kind of rupture between the two party bodies,quot; he said.

The CWC member said Janardhan Reddy told him that he had informed Rajasekhar about the proposed Telangana tour and he had agreed to participate in it. The PCC president admitted that he was informed about the campaign programme but claimed that he did not promise to take part in it.
