Mayor visits Sector 35 market
City Mayor Kewal Krishan Adiwal yesterday visited Sector 35 market and heard the problems being faced by the shopkeepers. Adiwal took a round of the market and was apprised of the poor condition of parking areas, ill-maintained roads and streetlights that have not been working for several months and assured them that their problems will be looked into.

Lecture at CRRID
Prof ML Sondhi, eminent scholar and expert, former diplomat and MP, will deliver a lecture on quot;Global Perspective: Economic and Securityquot; on June 5 at the Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development CRRID said a press release, today.

Ex-professor dies
Prof A. S. Kalra, 59, former member of faculty, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, died of a massive heart attack at his residence in S.A.S. Nagar, this evening. Prof Kalra retired from the PEC last year after a service of 30 years, a release said. The cremation will be held 10.30 a.m. tomorrow.
