The CBI has arrested two priests and a nun in the Abhaya murder case on the basis of narcoanalysis findings. Other than this, the investigative agency does not have any evidence against them.

The CBI was sure that the trio were involved in the murder when the agency conducted the narcoanalysis test on them at Bangalore FSL in October last year.

The CBI had filed an interim report in May this year at a Kottayam court informing the court about how these three persons had killed Abhaya and then dumped her body.

The agency had blamed Director of FSL Bangalore, S Malini, for tampering with the narco CDs.

It had informed the court that the FSL had not handed them over all the three CDs of the tests conducted on three suspects; instead, only two CDs were given to the agency and both were edited versions.

8220;Though the tests were held on October 17, 18, and 22, 2007, the CDs were handed over to us on October 24. When we visited lab on October 23, asking for the CD, the lab authorities were not ready to give it to us. The properties of the CDs showed that it had been processed not during the working hours of the lab, indicating that the manipulation had been done outside the lab,8221; said a CBI officer.
