4 nabbed for hawker’s death
Four men, including a shoe-polish boy, have been arrested by the Government Railway Police for battering a hawker to death on November 27 on Mahalakshmi railway station.

According to GRP sources, Lakshman Nagaonkar alias Vicky, who shines shoes at Mahalakshmi station, had lent Rs 3,000 to Jitendra, a railway hawker who could not return the amount. On November 27, Vicky, accompanied by his brother Romesh and friends Mahesh and Mukesh, reportedly plummeted Jitendra with blows and left him unconscious near the latrine on platform number 2.

French education fair in city
A two day long French education forum will begin at the Oberoi Towers today to promote higher education in France. The forum is being organised by Edufrance, a global agency promoted by the French government in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).

Two fires in city, no casualties
Two fires were reported at different places in the city today; there were nocasualties. According to the fire brigade, about 17 hutments situated near the MP mill compound at Tardeo caught fire at 10.20 am. In the second incident, a fire broke out in a portion of the PWD office located in the High Court premises at 9.30 am. No casualties were reported, fire brigade sources said.

Photographer, designer and stage producer Mohan Wagh is holding an exhibition at the Y B Chavan Auditorium titled Across Two Cultures. The exhibition aims to create a study in contrast between the cultures of the US/Canada and India. The exhibition is on till December 7 between 11 am and 7 pm.
