NEW DELHI, SEPT 30: The BJP's national executive meeting tomorrow is likely is likely to discuss the fallout of Mamata Banerjee's resignation from the Union Cabinet on West Bengal politics since Assembly elections are due in the state barely six months from now.The West Bengal unit of the party has been asked to present a comprehensive report on the prevailing situation in the state in the wake of clashes between CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress/BJP workers. They will present another report on flood and relief situation in the state.In the first meeting of new office-bearers today to finalise the agenda for tomorrow's meeting, party chief Bangaru Laxman emphasised the need for accountability in the party at all levels.``Not only office-bearers, but at every level there has to be accountability,to let the party move in the right direction,'' Bangaru said in his opening remarks.He said it was the responsibility of BJP as the dominant ruling party to ensure that policies of the Government are conveyed by the party cadres to the common man in the proper perspective, party vice president Jana Krishnamurthy told mediapersons later.An action plan for Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Pondicherry due early next year and in Uttar Pradesh later in 2001 will be finalised at the meeting.A resolution on the successful visit of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to the US and his address at the United Nations is also to be adopted, Krishnamurthy said.The national executive will be drawing up a programme for the next two to three months for taking the Nagpur Message to the people as also the Chennai Declaration, he said.It was felt that the party should stress on the fact that it should expand its social base and approach the Dalits, Minorities and Most Backward Communities.Among those who attended the meeting were former party president Kushabhau Thakre and HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi.
