A glaring lapse on the part of Tamil Nadu goalkeeper Douglas Ponraj knocked his team out of the 32nd National Games men8217;s football competition on Thursday. Tamil Nadu bowed to Bengal by that second-half goal at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium.

Midfielder Supratik Ain threw a spanner into the works of Tamil Nadu by scoring the goal in the 74th minute as Bengal entered the National Games final for the first time.

Pradeep had a good run down the left with the ball, and his left-footer rebounded off Ponraj only to be slotted in by a hesitant Supratik who had a lot of time to beat the goalkeeper.
