The Honda-backed BAR team have been banned from the next two races after breaking Formula One weight and fuel regulations at the San Marino Grand Prix.
The team will miss Sunday8217;s Spanish Grand Prix and the Monaco race on May 22, and were also excluded retroactively from the San Marino round 8212; the toughest action against a Formula One team for 20 years.
BAR8217;s Jenson Button had finished third and his Japanese teammate Takuma Sato was fifth at Imola last month.
The British-based team, also backed by British American Tobacco, said they were appalled by the decision and were considering their legal options. They still hoped to race this weekend in Barcelona, team boss Nick Fry said.

Button8217;s placing at Imola was confirmed only six hours after the race. Stewards had summoned BAR representatives and weighed the car with and without fuel.
FIA, the governing body of Formula One, appealed against the decision of the stewards not to take action over the weight of Button8217;s car.
FIA called for BAR to be banned for the rest of the championship at an appeal court hearing on Wednesday, and fined 1.0 million euros 1.30 million.
