
CHANDIGARH, JAN 31: Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal today expressed his regret over the incident in which the car of Major General retired S.S. Grewal was hit by the men of his security entourage on Chandigarh-Ambala Road on Saturday. Bansi Lal was on his way to Amabla.
The Chief Minister described the incident as quot;unfortunatequot;. He also spoke to Major General Grewal on phone and expressed his regret over the incident. He has ordered an inquiry into the incident to take action against the guilty.
Bansi lal, who is also a former Defence Minister, said that he had the highest regard for the Defence personnel and it was very unfortunate that Major Gen. Grewal had to face such an unpleasant situation.
Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee HPCC chief Bhupinder Singh Hooda also expressed great anguish over the quot;inhuman behaviourquot; of the security personnel accompanying the Chief Minister. He demanded stern action agaisnt the guilty police personnel, who subjected Major Gen. Grewal to uncalled for agony.
Hooda flayed the police station authorities, who advised Major Gen. Grewal not to press for action as the security staff of the Chief Minister was involved in the incident.
