CHANDIGARH, April 11: Psychological aspect of training for the badminton players was main agenda on the concluding day of the national level seminar-cum-clinic on badminton held at Sector 42 Sports Complex. The seminar was conducted by the Badminton Coaches Welfare Association of India (BCWAI).
TPS Puri, former national badminton coach said that metal preparation is of utmost important for the players during training and in competition. He outlined the various methods adopted by experts to ease tension and muscle fatigue before the competitions.
In the open session, which was also held today, the participants asked question related to game tactics and on sports medicine from the experts.
Annual general body meeting of BCWAI was also held. During the meeting it was decided to conduct seminar-cum-clinic annually. The BCWAI also decided to honour badminton coaches, who have outstanding results.
Two minute silence was also observed in memory of late SR Chadda, former secretary of Badminton Association of India (BAI).
Chief guest on the occasion was Col Raminder Singh, Director Punjab Sports Department, who announced Rs 10,000 for the BCWAI.
