Former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin, dropped for the ongoing Independence Cup, vowed to make a quick comeback last night.

In a departure from his policy of not speaking to the Indian journalists, the stylish Hyderabadi, in fact, seeked an audience from the scribes present at the Sahar airport to report on the team8217;s arrival from Bermuda. 8220;I am very disappointed not be in the side,8221; he said.

8220;I8217;ll try my best to make a comeback,8221; he disclosed sealing it with no further comments. Queries regarding whether he would turn up for Hyderabad also met a dead end.

There was support for the sacked player outside the airport where a large crowd carrying placards and shouting anti-selectors slogans greeted Azharuddin8217;s arrival outside.

A chaotic situation arose as a section of the crowd raised anti-Sachin Tendulkar slogans too. Sensing trouble, the senior Tendulkar sibling, Ajit, whisked the Indian captain away in his waiting car leaving behind a disappointed horde of scribes, who were eagerly awaiting Tendulkar8217;s comments.
