Canberra, April 29: Striker Alyson Annan scored twice today as Australia made a winning start to a four-nation women’s field hockey series by defeating India 5-1.
The Australians struggled to find their form early in the first half, but a 24th-minute goal by Bianca Langham set the pace, followed six minutes later by Annan’s first goal to give Australia a 2-0 half-time lead.
In an earlier match, South Africa defeated South Korea 1-0.
