
PUNE, Dec 2: The 512 Army Base Workshop, a premier defence establishment, which is looking for vendors to provide high-precision components for its tanks will be showcasing an array of tanks at Auto 8217;98 which took off at Police Ground here today. It will go on till December 6. Transport Commissioner Vijay Mathankar will inaugurate the exhibition.
TVS-Suzuki, Ford, Hindustan Motors and Hero Motors are among the few companies which will exhibit their new models of two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Over 100 stalls will display a wide variety of products items and services including display of Honda city cars, automobile software for two-wheeler dealerships, display of ambassador bodyshell, LNT Bearings, computerised colour matching systems and visual colour assessment aids, lubricants and other petroleum products. Several vintage and classic cars are all in working condition in Pune. They will also go on display.
The Maharashtra State Transport Department has introduced a number of models for the ordinary, Asiad, semi-luxury and luxury coaches. The department would display their works by putting up a decorative bus with detailed information. Seminars on various pertinent topics have also been organised as part of the auto show on December 3, 4 and 5 under the theme technology day, environment day and management day.
