Colombo, Aug 4: Sri Lanka’s Aravinda de Silva has been spared disciplinary action after reaching a settlement following a fracas with a photographer, cricket officials said today.
“…No further action is necessary,” Schaffter said in a letter to the Sports Media Journalists Association of Sri Lanka which first made the complaint against de Silva.
Journalists had complained de Silva used foul language and raised a bottle on Monday to hit a photographer.
The Sports media association had also asked schaffter totake "meaningful steps" and "pave the way for the proper conduct of the country’s cricketers who are looked up to as model citizens and ambassadors of the nation".
De silva’s outburst on Monday came within hours of teammanager schaffter claimed better team discipline had been instilled in the squad.
Schaffter said tighter discipline was already beingimposed inside the dressing room and players were punctual for practices.
