Worries have multiplied for the Ranji Trophy champions Railways on the eve of the their match three-day match against West Indies which begins at the Nehru Stadium here on Thursday.

As if the void created by the absence of Test opener Sanjay Bangar was not enough came the news that the other opener Amit Pagnis too has been ruled out due to injury. Pagnis injured his left thumb while at nets and a hair-line fracture meant he will have to sit out for Railways8217; season opener.

Railways coach Vinod Sharma, who yesterday was worrying about the grass on the wicket, today was found contemplating to find a stand-in opening pair. 8216;8216;That is a concern, but we are left with no option but to go ahead with the pair of skipper Abhay Sharma and Shreyas Khanonkar,8217;8217; he stated.

Putting aside all the worries Railways skipper Abhay Sharma was quick to say, 8216;8216;we are mentally prepared and we will give the West Indies good fight.8217;8217;

But for the visitors, the wicket with much grass has given them some chance to bounce back for a morale booster before the Kolkata Test match scheduled from October 29.

8216;8216;Yes it is quiet different from the other wickets we have played,8217;8217; rightly agreed The West Indian skipper Carl Hooper.
