A date with Akshay

Bollywood’s leading man Akshay Kumar first hit the screen in the early ‘90s, and then accumulated a series of roles that qualified him as one of the most prolific actors in contemporary Indian cinema. This month Max, the movies and special events channel, has rolled out ‘Khiladi No. 1’, a festival of handpicked 10 movies of the star. For two weeks, which kicked off this November 17, viewers will get to watch films like ‘Namaste London’, ‘Kayda Kanoon’, ‘Aflatoon’, ‘Waqt – The Race Against Time’ to list a few. What’s more, the audience out there will be able to play an active role in the film festival by participating in the ‘Khel Boli Ka’ contest. On each day of the film festival, a premium product will be shown and a “bid limit” will be announced. The viewer will have to send his/her bid via SMS to 52525. The winning bid will be the one, which is the most unique and highest but less than the bid limit. A SMS will be sent back to the viewer / bidder informing him of the status of his bid. The bidding is open only for the duration of the movie and the lucky winner will be announced during the movie on the next day. So tune in for songs and dances, love triangles, comedy and daredevil thrills in a three-hour-long extravaganza with Akshay Kumar. All the films will be telecast at 4 pm daily.
