CHANDIGARH, Oct 7: The Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam HVPN augmented three existing sub-stations and laid a 16-km-long 33kv line at a cost of Rs 3.72 crore last month.

The work had been undertaken as a part of the on-going drive to strengthen the transmission and distribution of power in the state, a Nigam spokesman said today.

The 220 KV sub-station at Panipat Thermal Power Station, the 220 KV sub-station at Fazilpur in Sonepat town and the 132 KV sub-station at Chhajpur in Panipat district were augmented additional transformers of 100 MVA, 16 MVA and 12.5 MVA respectively. These will benefit Karnal, Panipat, Sonepat and Jind by improving voltage in the power supply and release of additional connections.

The spokesman said that 16 km long 33 KV Bahadurgarh-Sampla line was commissioned at a cost of Rs 31 lakh, which would benefit Sampla in Rohtak district.

Earlier, power was being supplied to Sampla town through a 33 KV line passing through 33 KV sub-station at Surya Roshni and Jessor Kheri. With the commissioning of this line, the voltage profile will improve and the number of power cuts during peak hours would be reduced, he said.
