CHANDIGARH, Aug 12: Two Iranians, accused of violating the Foreigners Act, have been granted bail in different cases. While Jalal Deris has been released on bail by UT District and Sessions Judge B S Bedi, Omid Aboudi has been granted bail by Additional District and Sessions Judge G S Sandhu.The duo have been directed against leaving the City without the court's permission. They have also been directed to furnish a written undertaking regarding their attending the court on every hearing.Deris had earlier been arrested by the Chandigarh Police under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act on May 14. Seeking his release on bail, the defence counsel had enclosed a letter by the first secretary in Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that the authority concerned had extended his residential permit up to May 15, 1998.Meanwhile, seeking Aboudi's release on bail, the defence counsel had stated that the ``legal and valid'' passport of the accused had been misplaced. He had also enclosed a communication from the Embassy, stating that the accused was possessing a passport.
