Randeep Hooda feels marriage to actor and model Lin Laishram, whom he met on the production set of a play, has made him a calmer person. “Covid-19 brought us together even more. During Covid, she made me so many dishes. I went crazy. I am not even a foodie,” Hooda told Curly Tales in a joint appearance with wife Lin.
He also admitted that his family and he had given up on his marriage plans completely before he met Lin. “Everybody had given up on my marriage plans. I did too,” added Hooda, 48, who got married to Lin, 39 in a traditional Manipuri Meitei wedding in her home state of Manipur in November 2023.
Reflecting on his married life, the Swatantrya Veer Savarkar actor said, “It has been a great decision to get married to her. She has calmed me down. I eat healthier. I have better hours. I don’t stay up all night. The time I used to sleep is now my wake up time.”
Taking a cue from Randeep Hooda’s admission, let’s delve into how a partner can bring positive changes in one’s life.
Dr Santosh Bangar, senior consultant psychiatrist, Gleneagles Hospitals Parel Mumbai, said being assured there is someone by your side lends a sense of peace and stability. “Being empathic and showing comfort and understanding can help induce calmness in life which can further help one feel motivated to improve or change certain aspects about themselves,” said Dr Bangar.
Factors like communication, mutual respect, and creating a safe space can help create deep connections which propels one to become a better version of themselves.
Having said that, undue pressure to conform should not hamper relationships. “Seek professional advice from experts to discuss concerns related to relationship issues. Their expert guidance can help you address the root cause of the problem leading to a stable and healthy relationship,” said Dr Bangar.
