Hyderabad CFSL to test Honey Singh CD

Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the Hyderabad CFSL to ask for voice samples of Honey Singh.

In A report submitted on Thursday to the Punjab and Haryana High Court,the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Chandigarh stated that it was not possible to identify the voice of singer Honey Singh in the CD of the song Main Hoon Balatkari due to lack of sufficient characteristic speech samples for comparison.

Following this,the court directed the Hyderabad CFSL to conduct forensic examination of the CD to prove whether or not Honey Singh sang Main balatkaari hoon and submit a report in six weeks.

Further,it directed the Hyderabad CFSL to ask for voice samples of Honey Singh,if needed. In case the facility for recording a voice sample is available with the Chandigarh CFSL,the singer may get his voice sample recorded here,it added.

The Chandigarh CFSL filed the reply in regard to a petition filed by Honey Singh seeking quashing of an FIR registered by S B S Nagar police against him on complaint filed by Parvinder Singh Kittna a resident of Nawanshahr. Kittna had accused Singh of promoting obscenity through his songs. Further proceedings in the FIR against Honey Singh will be stayed till November 15.

The high court also issued notices to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the Information and Technology Ministry to submit affidavit

on the ways and means being employed or to be employed by the Central government

to prevent misuse of YouTube and other social networking sites by unscrupulous

elements.

In a statement issued on Thursday,Honey Singh said he has neither sung the disputed song nor has he promoted the video. The video had been uploaded by some impersonator on YouTube,Singh said,adding that he has been writing to YouTube since 2012 to remove all fake accounts and uploads in his name.
