Gulzar and Shankar Mahadevan

Ideas often strike several artistes in the wee hours of the morning. Likewise, Gulzar too often calls up Shankar Mahadevan to discuss his ideas in the early hours of the day. Everyday, when Mahadevan who lives in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, drives to work, he gets a call from Gulzar, inquiring on which part of the Vashi-Mankhurd bridge he is on. If the composer is on the first half of the bridge, then Gulzar discusses his ideas with him as it means that he has enough time before he reaches his destination. This happens on a regular basis and their way of working is not just having a formal meeting where they sit and exchange ideas any time of the day!
