Lokah Chapter 1 box office collection day 8: Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role, alongside Naslen and Sandy, director Dominic Arun’s Lokah Chapter 1 is starting to emerge as a winner at the box office. Within a week of its release, the film’s nett collections have reached Rs 54.35 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. On its eighth day in theatres, the film made Rs 8 crore, which is applause worthy considering the film started its box office journey with just Rs 2.7 crore. The film’s worldwide collection currently stands at Rs 106.25 crore.

Lokah’s collections have stayed over Rs 7 crore every day since its first Monday, which shows that the film is performing largely due to its good audience reception. On Thursday, the film saw around 53 percent occupancy in Malayalam. Lokah had around 250 shows in Kochi, with around 83 percent occupancy, and around 120 shows in Kozhikode with around 79 percent occupancy.

Lokah landed in some controversy after a line calling Bengaluru “capital of drugs and crime” was labelled as problematic by Kannada filmmakers. In response, Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, along with Raj B Shetty’s Lighter Buddha Films, issued an apology and assured the public that they would edit the offensive line out. “It has come to our attention that a dialogue delivered by one of the characters in our film Lokah: Chapter One has unintentionally hurt the sentiments of people from Karnataka. At Wayfarer Films, we place people above everything else. We deeply regret this oversight and assure you that no offence was intended. The dialogue in question will be removed/edited at the earliest. We sincerely apologise for the hurt caused and humbly request you to accept our apology.”

It’s the same with her latest releases.” He added, “She is the kind of person who will update you on her latest projects only after wrapping them up and showing up at home.”
