Panchkula police identifies 150 crime hotspots across district

The Panchkula police has identified a total of 150 hotspots across the district where the risk of drug abuse or sale, gambling, betting, antisocial activities and petty crimes is higher.
As part of Operation Hotspot Domination, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Manpreet Singh Sudan on Wednesday directed all field units to intensify surveillance and policing in these vulnerable zones.
Chairing a meeting at Mansa Devi police station with in-charges and staff of PCR units, rider teams and ERVs, DCP Sudan instructed the force to immediately enhance patrolling, conduct rigorous vehicle checking and maintain a visible presence at all marked hotspots. He emphasised that police visibility would act as a deterrent and restrict criminal elements from operating freely.
The DCP noted that consistent domination and patrolling have already helped reduce incidents of theft, snatching and other street crimes across the district.
He added that in the coming days, both field presence and intelligence inputs would be strengthened to eliminate such offences entirely.
The meeting was attended by the SHO, Inspector Munish Kumar, in-charge Ramu Swami and nearly 120 police personnel.
The DCP directed all teams to fan out across their respective jurisdictions without delay, verify suspicious activities, maintain continuous pressure at hotspot locations and ensure swift, effective action on every piece of information received.
