Even after the deletion of all the episodes and Allahbadia’s apology, the backlash refuses to dial down. While some celebrities have come out in support of stand-up comedian and podcaster, others took a jibe at their controversial dark humour. Recently, Badshah gave a shoutout to Samay at his concert in Gujarat. On the other hand, Gaurav Kapoor used Ranveer for his latest stand-up show.
During his performance at Parul University in Vadodara, rapper Badshah defended Samay Raina amid row, giving a shoutout “Free Samay Raina” at the end of his live show. The audience couldn’t stop cheering and gave a huge reaction after he showed his support. A video of Badshah has been doing rounds of social media, showcasing him addressing the crowd and saying, “Free Samay Raina.” Many social media users reacted to the clip in Samay Raina’s support, pointing out how Samay has not been arrested and is very much free. “Samay is not in jail, someone tell Badshah,” wrote one, while another said, “Free Samay from where?”

For the unversed, Badshah earlier appeared as a special guest on Raina’s show India’s Got Latent and has collaborated with the stand-up comedian in the music video for Baawe with Raftaar.
While Ranveer Allahbadia faces several FIRs and questioning by officials, comedian Gaurav Kapoor didn’t miss the chance to address the controversy in his act. He took a jibe at the podcaster’s ‘quick apology’. In his latest social media post, he started in the video by talking about how every comedian is being asked to cancel their shows by the organisers to avoid death threats but he himself is unbothered by it.
However, he believes that the entire India’s Got Latent controversy has been blown out of proportion. “Arre bhai kya bhasad hogai yaar. Itni badi bhasad toh hai bhi nahi yaar. Ho gaya yaar, nikal gaya mooh se yaar (It has become such a big mess when it isn’t that big. It is fine, they messed up),” he said.
He then joked about Ranveer being too quick to share an apology video. “Mujhe gire pe laat marna accha nahi lagta par ek baar maar dete hain. Waise Ranveer jo bhai hain, 12 baje controversy hui, 2 baje apology dedi. 2 ghante mein? Itnijaldi toh main apne papa ko sorry nhi bolta (I don’t like to kick someoe who has tripped but let’s do it this once. Ranveer apologised just two hours after the controversy came to light. I don’t apologise to my dad so quickly),” he added.

“Abe rukja, lawyer ko dede thoda paisa. Baat karle lawyer se, samajh le kya bolna hai (Wait, pay a lawyer and consult them first).” He pointed out that Ranveer should own up to it is and what led to the controversy. Many social media users criticised Gaurav in the comments section, for using the unfortunate incident as an opportunity for his set.
The entire controversy blew up after Ranveer Allahbadia’s ‘parents’ comments on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. The National Commission for Women (NCW) also asked Allahbadia, Raina, and other panellists Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, and the show’s producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra to appear before February 17 in New Delhi.
