Eagle-eyed netizens find video of a smitten Akshaye Khanna dancing with Aishwarya Rai after saying ‘can’t take my eyes off her’

In the video, the two actors are seen dancing on stage to “Taal Se Taal Mila”. Sharing the clip, a Reddit user wrote, “Aishwarya and Akshaye dancing on stage in Miami – Taal Se Taal Mila (1999).”

The video sparked a flurry of reactions online. One user commented, “He was not lying when he said, ‘I just can’t take my eyes off her.’” Another added, “He was absolutely smitten by Aishwarya during the making of their first film together.”

This isn’t the first time Akshaye Khanna’s admiration for Aishwarya Rai has resurfaced online. An old clip from Koffee With Karan has also been circulating, in which Akshaye candidly spoke about his fascination with the former Miss World.

“I can never take my eyes off her whenever I meet her,” he said on the show, adding with disarming honesty, “It’s embarrassing for men. She must be used to it, but I’m not used to not being able to take my eyes off somebody. You just keep staring at her like a lunatic.”

Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai collaborated twice during their careers. Both actors made their debuts in 1997, and in 1999, they appeared together in two films—Taal and Aa Ab Laut Chalen. While Taal, directed by Subhash Ghai, emerged as a blockbuster, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, directed by Rishi Kapoor in his first and only directorial venture, failed to make an impact at the box office. That film also marked the end of their on-screen collaboration.

For a brief period during the filming of these projects, the two were reportedly close. Rumours at the time suggested that they dated for nearly a year, until Aishwarya signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. However, these claims remain unverified, with neither actor ever addressing the speculation publicly.
