XAT 2025 Registrations Surge: The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) will soon release the admit cards for the examination scheduled for January 5. However, the conducting body, XLRI, has not yet determined the date for releasing the admit cards for the MBA examination.

Before the XAT admit cards are released, let’s check how has been the trend of registration for the aptitude test. This year, the examination registered a surge, reaching an all-time high of 142,235 applications. In 2023, the number of applications had increased from 96,438 in 2023 to 1.35 lakh in 2024.

As earlier reported by indianexpress.com, various factors are causing the trend in registration including more online courses, companies promoting lifelong learning, heightened awareness of an MBA degree’s advantages, a competitive job market, and layoffs, among other factors.

XAT 2025: What are the new changes in the format

This year, a notable change in the exam format is the permission given to bring scientific calculators in the exam hall. The exam interface will also provide an option to access the calculator during the test.

Additionally, on September 26, 34 new test cities were added in the exam centre list for its 2025 edition. This decision was taken to accommodate the increasing demand for XAT 2025. Among these newly added locations are AnantapurArrahBhagalpurDarbhangaMuzaffarpurBilaspur, Mehsana, Baddi, Chikkaballapur, Davanagere, Hazaribagh, Hisar, Kalaburagi (Gulbarga), Kurukshetra, Shimla, Ajmer, Balasore, Bikaner, Dhenkanal, Jodhpur, Kolhapur, Nanded, Patiala, Sikar, Ujjain, Karimnagar, Salem, Vellore, Aligarh, Bareilly, Haldwani, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, and Kalyani.
