Panel constituted to appoint new VC for Avinashilingam varsity

A three-member search-cum selection committee has been constituted to select the Vice-Chancellor for the Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women (University) here.

The varsity has invited applications from senior women educationists to be considered for inclusion in the panel for appointment as Vice Chancellor (VC), as the term of office of the incumbent was over a few days ago, its Chancellor P R Krishnakumar told reporters here today.

Based on the UGC Regulation, a committee has been set up under Chairmanship of S V Balasubramaniam, Chairman, Bannari Amman Group, with Prof Vasudha Kamat, vice-chancellor, SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai (MHRD Nominee) and Dr S C Sharma, Former Vice Chancellor, Tumkur University and Office of Director, Bengaluru (a nominee of Board of Management) as other members, he said.
