Girls have topped in all three streams – science, arts and commerce. As many as 83.93% students have passed in the science stream. Ayushi Nandan has topped Class 12 inter 2023 science exam. Mohaddesa has topped the Arts BSEB Class 12th result with 475 marks or 95% marks.

Like several other state and national boards, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has also been known to have better academic performances by girls, rather than boys.

According to the data provided by the Bihar Board, 6,36,432 girls appeared for the BSEB intermediate (class 12) exam, which is a good increase from the 5.48 lakh girls who appeared in 2021 and 5.38 lakh female candidates who appeared in 2020.

When it comes to academic performance, the overall pass percentage has also been increasing over the years.

In 2018, around 4,86,588 girls had successfully cleared the Intermediate exam, which increased to 83.39 per cent in 2022.

In 2022, the overall passing percentage was 83.39 per cent for girls. Girls had also dominated Commerce and Arts stream with a passing percentage of 93.89 per cent, and 81.28 per cent respectively. Even in the compartment exams, there were a total of 44,084, out of which 21,073 were girls.

This was not a huge jump from 2021, though, when the passing percentage of girls was 80.57 per cent (6,16,536).

Whether or not girls are able to increase the pass percentage this year is yet to be seen.
