Recently Sach Ka Saamna and Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao have joined in. But this isn’t enough,it seems. It is raining reality shows on Indian television, which is now getting wrestling superstars on a combat reality show on Colors. The show is called 100 % and is borrowed from the Argentinean show 100 % Lucha.

The rechristened show is a fusion between fiction and non-fiction and is owned by Endemol. 100% will have 13 combat fighters and be shot in South Africa. “The world’s greatest sport takes to the screen with a unique twist,” says Ashvini Yardi, programming head,Colors.

Names of WWE superstars— Kilimanjaro,Nightmare,Skull,Fury,Exterminator,Daemon,Kwaicokid,Blacksmith,Murat,Jason Steele,Tornado and Ananzi— are being tossed about as participants. The show is scheduled to go on air August-end,but its shoot is yet to commence.

According to Yardi,“It is a fusion concept where drama meets reality, muscle power meets willpower, anger meets angst, confidence meets forced composure, force meets fear and fate meets about-face. It’s one show where you’ll be forced to take sides – you want be with the ‘icons’ or do you want to support the ‘I-cans’?”

100% Lucha originally premiered in Argentina on 1 January,2006,as a bi-yearly kids entertainment show. But after successfully mopping up ratings, the show started adapting many elements from WWE to widen the target audience.
