Deepika Padukone speaks of her love for the 70s.
There isnt much that would link a hip-hop performance to a watch. But at the launch of the latest sporty watch by Tissot,a high-energy and acrobatic-filled dance performance by Suresh N Vernon group captured the essence of the watch brands latest offering. Held on Monday afternoon at the ITC Grand Central,Parel, this performance kickstarted the launch of the new Tissot Racing-Touch. And while the dance group did succeed in wowing the audience,it was brand ambassador Deepika Padukones presence that was the highlight of the event.
Clad in a sleeveless striped top and a light blue high-waisted skirt,Padukone didnt disappoint fashion lovers. According to the actor,a watch is an important part of ones ensemble. There was a time when wearing a watch was a necessity but now its about making a style statement, she said.
The emcee for the event,RJ Siddharth Kannan, quizzed Padukone about the one era she would love to be born in. She replied it would have to be the 70s. I loved the films and the fashion of that time, plus my debut film,Om Shanti Om,had me portray an actress from that era, she said.
