It would be fair to say that if it hadn’t been for Bigg Boss,Bindra’s star won’t have risen this high. The lady says,“I learnt a lot there — the show takes you to the edge of your tolerance and your temper goes haywire. The best thing is that I lost nine kilos after surviving on fruits. I now call it the Bigg Boss diet,” she says,breaking into her trademark,rip-roaring laugh. “I have no issues about not winning the show. I love the janta — I am the janta’s celebrity,” she says proudly.

Rumour has it that Bindra is being paid over a crore for her role in Armanon ka Balidaan. When prodded on this point,she reacts explosively and declares,“It’s only my business to know how much I am being paid. I have a problem with rumours and lies.” Even though she did not win the prize money on Bigg Boss 4,she has managed to gain a lot of work. However,despite a lot of coaxing,the lady with the reputation for impulsive outburts remains tight-lipped and refuses to divulge any information about her future projects.

It’s easy to assume that one knows everything there is to know about Bindra. After all,didn’t she put her whole personality on display in Bigg Boss? As a matter of fact,the actress continues to be full of surprises. For instance,ask her who her favourite actors are. “Smita Patil,Deepti Naval and Shabana Azmi,” she rattles off. “I have grown up watching Patil’s films and she has been my favourite ever since,” she adds. However,unlike other reality show stars — Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan spring to mind — Bindra makes no claims about being misunderstood. She is what she is off camera too and has no objection to making some money off her new-found popularity. “I am in an industry and you have to be practical. I am open to doing all kinds of shows,if they interest me. I am bindaas yaar,” she concludes. Our new drama queen has made her entry.
