Investiture ceremony at Apeejay School
The Interact Club of Apeejay School,Pitampura,organised the investiture ceremony on August 4 in the school premises. The ceremony was attended by many honourable Rotarians like Dr Sunil Nigam,President,Rotary Club,Delhi Midtown,Madhu Nigam,Pawandeep Kataria,Ashok Bharti ,Suresh Gupta and Praveen Aggarwal from the Rotary Club,Delhi Midtown along with other special invitees like past Interact Club presidents and Rotarian parents. Dr Sunil Nigam congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and encouraged them to make sincere efforts.
Exhibition to highlight need for conservation
An exhibition of all graffiti,working models,charts and other features was held as a part of Utsav 2010 at Ramjas School,Pusa Road. The purpose of the event was to sensitise students towards the need to conserve resources and work for the protection of our planet. The exhibition highlighted the necessity of conserving the habitat for the welfare of all species of wildlife. Working models demonstrated the use of alternate sources of energy. The awareness of conservation was also spread through jingles created by the students and graffiti art too. Shri Autar Krishna,chairman of the school,inaugurated the event.
Science,Maths and Social Science exhibition
On the occasion of Indias 64th Independence Day,The Indian School celebrated the freedom of the human spirit by exhibiting Science,Maths and Social Sciences projects by classes I XII. The Silk Route being the theme for the year,the exhibition was named The World as a Global Village.
Padma Vibhushan Professor MGK Menon,scientist par excellence,was the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag as the school choir sang the national anthem. School chairman Shri Prafull Goradia welcomed the chief guest and introduced him to the children and the teachers.
Professor Menon addressed the students,teachers,parents and special invitees and held the young audience spellbound with anecdotes from his own life.
Independence Day celebrations
Hillgrove Public School celebrated the 64th Independence Day and investiture ceremony in the school premises.
The chief guest for the day Amod K Kanth,retired IPS officer and chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights(DCPCR) besides being the General Secretary of Prayas,unfurled the Tricolour and later took salute from the newly appointed school council contingent followed by NCC cadets. The chief guest administered the oath to the office- bearers where they pledged to be the future torchbearers of the school and the nation at large.
The occasion was graced by the presence of the school chairman Raj Singh Gehlot and the school manager Sheela Gehlot. The school principal Jeanie Aibara welcomed the chief guest and the dignitaries present.
A patriotic song by the school choir and a musical ballot Jungle Ki Pukaar left the audience enthralled. The chief guest addressed the gathering and the toppers of CBSE board examination (2009-2010) classes X and XII were awarded Master Nihal Singh Memorial Scholarships.
Investiture ceremony at Navy children school
Navy Children School,Chanakyapuri held the investiture ceremony for the session 2010-2011 on August12. The newly appointed prefectorial board took charge from the members of the outgoing board in an impressive ceremony in the presence of the chief guest V Adm SPS Cheema AVSM,NM. The new prefectorial board took the oath to carry out their duties effectively by using the authority wisely and to always uphold the honour of the school.
Bluebells celebrates colours of freedom
On August 13,the students of Bluebells School International gathered to pay homage to their nation on the eve of Independence Day. The prefectorial body marching to the beat of drums. The Tricolour was unfurled on the dais by the chief guest,Justice Leela Seth,the first woman to become the Chief Justice of a state High Court. The students of the primary wing discussed Leela Seths book We,the Children of India: The Preamble to Our Constitution,learning and sharing their understanding of the preamble. The flavour of the day was further enhanced with a Hindi and an English poem on the meaning of freedom and a jazz performance.
Students visit China
Eleven students and three staff members from Birla Vidya Niketan attended The International Childrens Art Festival at Urumqi,Xinjiang,China. Organised by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries,the festival was attended by seven nations,namely Russia,Kazakhstan,Kyrgyztan,Turmenistan ,Pakistan,China and India. The activities included dance,music,art,sports and acrobatic performances. The fest was held at the Da Guanghua School. The bonhomie and love shared by the students transcended all barriers of language,colour or creed. Each delegation put up awe-inspiring performances showcasing their ethnicity. The Indian delegation impressed the audience by a fusion dance Beyond Borders,Yoga Rooted in Eternity,and choreography based on Jai Ho.
Helping the needy on Independence Day
Independence Day was celebrated at Abhinav Public School with full enthusiasm. Shekhar Mahajan,director of Sahyog,an NGO working for poor children,was in attendance. Students presented dances based on patriotic themes and the school choir sang patriotic songs. Students of donated clothes,toys and books for the children of Sahyog.
Shekhar Mahajan appreciated the cultural programme and thanked the school principal Saroj Aggarwal for motivating students for a such social cause.
