If you’re still wondering why is the whole thing so familiar, then here’s a clue – British comedy ‘Death at a Funeral’. That’s right,Daddy Cool is a rip off of the same film – a funeral gone horribly wrong! Releasing worldwide on August 28,Big Music is out with the music of the film, and the drum rolls with eighties hit,’Daddy Cool’ by the film’s music composer Raghav Sachar. From the makers of Masti & Dhamaal,Indra Kumar & Ashok Thakeria’s ‘Daddy Cool’,is a co-production between BIG Pictures and Maruti Pictures.
A comedy of errors,Raghav’s music adds zing to film with its groovy and foot-tapping compositions, and yes, before they run into any controversy, the producers have acquired the rights to produce the desi version of the song ‘Daddy Cool’. Raghav has developed a psychedelic version of it,tempering it with an Indian feel of music in the 60s in India,a hip-hop touch, live percussions, bit of Punjabi and qawwali and Raghav’s signature flute piece. Apart from this, there are high-energy dance tracks including “Nasha Nasha” sung by Neha Bhasin. The album contains seven tracks in all. Says Raghav,”My first impression when I was signed on to compose the music for the film Daddy Cool was, that I wanted to get the right sound and beats for the title song which today’s generation would like. Am happy with the outcome where I have given a different flavour to the song with desi jibes. At the same time “Nasha Nasha” is by far my most superlative composition till date.”
