The wholesale gur market ended on a weak note today as prices dropped on increased production in manufacturing areas against reduced offtake.
Traders said increase production in manufacturing areas against reduced reduced offtake mainly pulled down gur prices.
At Delhi,gur chakku,pedi,dhayya and shakkar were down by Rs 100 each to 3100- 150,Rs 3100-3200,Rs 3200-3300 and Rs 3400-3500 per quintal,respectively.
In Muzzafarnagar,gur chakku and khurpa also moved down to Rs 2875-3100 and Rs 2575-2650 against last close of Rs 3150-3200 and Rs 2800-2875 per quintal,respectively.
At Muradnagar,gur pedi and dhayya also eased to Rs 2800-2875 and Rs 2850-2900 against last close of Rs 2950-3000 and Rs 3000-3050 per quintal,respectively. The following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Gur chakku 3,100-3,150,pedi 3,100-3,200,dhayya 3,200-3,300 and shakkar 3,400- 3,500.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,750-2,800,chakku 2,575-2,650 and khurpa 2,575-2650. Muradnagar: Pedi 2,800-2,875 and dhayya 2,850-2,900.
