Rahul Shewale biography

Rahul Ramesh Shewale, also known as Rahul Sehewale, is a political leader from Maharastra and a member of Shiv Sena. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament from Mumbai South Central Lok Sabha constituency. He was born on April 14, 1973, to his parents, Ramesh Sambhaji Shewale and Jayashri Shewale. He graduated from Government Polytechnic, Bandra, with a diploma in civil engineering.

He has served as the standing committee chairman of the Mumbai municipal body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Body (BMC), four times from 2010 to 2014. He holds the record for being appointed chairman of the BMC standing committee the most times, together with his predecessor Ravindra Waikar.

He started his career at the national level in 2014 when he contested and won the Lok Sabha elections from the Mumbai South Central seat. He retained his seat once again in the 2019 Lok Sabha election after winning it by a landslide margin of 152139 votes.

A Dubai-based lady accused him of raping her under pretext of marriage and filed a formal complaint against him in January 2023. He has refuted every accusation and called for an investigation by the NIA, alleging the woman has ties to the criminal underworld, including mobster Dawood Ibrahim.
