Shimla, Feb 15 (ANI): A street play was staged outside the Gaiety theatre in Shimla to spread awareness on women rights and urged people to support the cause. Artists also held a flash mob and sang songs calling for protection of rights for women. The awareness campaign was organised by the Young Working Women Christian Association under the banner of ‘One Billion Rising’, a global movement that aims to end violence against women. The artists believed the skit, drama, and dances were the right medium to make society aware of such serious issues.

New Delhi, Jan 17 (ANI): West Bengal state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary on Sunday said Sambia Sohrab’s arrest was not really an arrest, but surrender. He added that efforts were being made to protect Sohrab. He stated that since pressure was being mounted by people and opposition parties, the accused had to be arrested. He further added that the drama surrounding the case was enacted by the police and Trinamool Congress Party (TMC).
