As the country celebrated Dussehra on Saturday, the official Twitter handle of Unique Identification Authority of India, the statutory authority charged with issuing the 12-digit Aadhaar number, shared a graphic showing 10 crossbows of “good governance” aimed at Raavan’s multiple heads.
The UIDAI tweeted: “A time when the world sees the power of good governance. Let us continue this true spirit with Aadhaar… #HappyDussehra.”
In a sarcastic reply, a Twitter user who goes by the handle name #DestroytheAadhaar asked: “Sir how many Aadhaar can Ravan get? 10 faces * 10 iris pairs = 100 at least?”.
The @UIDAI, keeping a straight face, said Raavan is not eligible as he is not an Indian resident.

UIDAI’s response left Twitterati in splits, with the tweet gaining 4,500 retweets and 5,600 likes, at the time of writing. One user said “the social media in charge of Aadhaar needs to be given a raise”. To which, the UIDAI concurred saying “agreed”.
Agreed.
