The greatest Grand Slam, Wimbledon, entres its second day on Tuesday where the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and local lad Andy Murray began their campaign in the men’s singles. Jo-Wilfred Tsonga will also be in action. In the women’s singles, defending champion Petra Kvitova will also begin her title defence on Tuesday. As is so often the case, the weather was the number one topic of conversation at Wimbledon on Tuesday but for once it was not the prospect of rain that brought out the umbrellas but a beating sun on what was forecast to be the hottest day of the year. FULL READ

* Rafael Nadal win the first set against Thomaz Bellucci 6-4! A bit scrappy but positive play from Nadal.
* Petra Kvitova takes only 35 minutes to seal a 6-1, 6-0 over Kiki Bertens. What a performance!
Petra Kvitova opened defense of her Wimbledon title on Tuesday with a dominant performance on Centre Court.
The 2nd-seeded Czech lost only one point on serve as she beat Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands 6-1, 6-0 in less than an hour.
The only point that Kvitova dropped on serve came when she double-faulted on the first point of the final game.
* In the women’s singles, defending champion Petra Kvitova is up 6-1, 5-0 against Bertens.
*G Muller takes the second set against Tsonga 7-6(3) to tie it at 1-1. Some brilliant game from the two!
