American singer Bob Dylan is set to make a rare television appearance during David Letterman’s last week as host of “The Late Show with David Letterman”.

Dylan will appear alongside Bill Murray as two of the veteran talkshow host’s final guests, Billboard reported.

The appearance will be Dylan’s first on the show since 1993, shortly after the series moved from NBC to CBS, and Murray’s 44th appearance in total.

Murray was Letterman’s very first guest when his NBC series premiered on February 1, 1982.

Letterman will be ending his 23-year-run as host on May 20 with an episode that is only being described as “an hour filled with surprises”.

Stephen Colbert will take over the role of late-night talkshow host on CBS on September 8.
