Chalo China to start in April
After the critically acclaimed Chalo Delhi, which released in 2011, the much awaited sequel to the film is all set to take off in April this year

After the critically acclaimed Chalo Delhi, which released in 2011, the much awaited sequel to the film is all set to take off in April this year. The title of the film has been confirmed as Chalo China and once again, the film will continue with journey as its main theme. Confirming the news, co-producer Raja Chaudhary mentioned that their team is currently doing a recce for the final list of locations.
“We should be able to start filming in April. Both Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak will be seen in pivotal roles, while a few other smaller characters will be finalised later. As the title suggests, major parts of the film will be shot in China, while a few portions will be filmed in Malaysia as well,” mentioned Chaudhary. Director Shashank Ghosh added that while the script is almost ready, they are trying to finish working on the location hunt first.
Abhinay Deo’s next likely to go on floors in July-August
Film-maker Abhinay Deo who has been busy last year with Anil Kapoor’s 24, is finally set to start his next film after Delhi Belly, this year. The director has two scripts ready, but he is yet to lock which one will go on floors first. “There are two scripts that I’m dabbling with, and any one of them will start, depending on which film’s cast gets locked first. It’s difficult for me to say which one will go on floors first, because we’re still in the process of talking to actors for both these films,” says Deo. Ask him about the genre of these films, and he says, “One of the scripts is an out-and-out comedy, with a love angle to it. Delhi Belly was a different kind of comedy all together, so for me it’s like pushing the envelope again. And the second film is like a buddy film, which also has a lot of drama to it. I think both the territories are very interesting.”
The film is likely to go on floors in July-August, this year, and the cast should hopefully be announced in a month or so, confirms the director. Meanwhile, Deo is also working on an hour-long film for MTV, as a part of their show called MTV Films. — ARK
