Girl found hanging in Thane residence

A 13-year-old girl was found hanging at her Chandanwadi Complex residence in Thane on Thursday evening.

Officers of the Naupada Police said no suicide note has been recovered from the spot.

Officers said that the incident took place around 6:15 pm. The girl was alone at home and the incident came to light when neighbours saw her hanging from the ceiling. We were informed about the incident and we immediately rushed to the spot. We rushed the girl to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival, said Assistant Inspector of Police Dhanraj Bhoir of Naupada Police.

The police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) in the case.

We have not yet recorded the statements of the girl’s parents as they are still in shock. We will record their statements and take action after that, said Bhoir.
