While airlines continue to operate from the new terminal of the Chandigarh International Airport, which was thrown open to the public last month, passengers continue to the report to the old terminal of the airport. Passengers complain that lack of awareness about the shift of operations continues to give a tough time to them.
According to the airline operators, several passengers report late to the airport every day. “Ever since the new terminal has been opened, around 5-10 passengers reach late to the new terminal daily,” M R Jindal, Airport Manager, AirIndia, told Chandigarh Newsline. “We are supposed to close the boarding counter 45 minutes before departure. But today, we had to issue boarding passes till the last moment.”
He said that passengers also miss their flights sometimes in this process . “We then accommodate them in other flights,” he said.
