Singer Palak Muchhal has broken her silence on her brother Palash Muchhal and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding postponement. During an interaction with Filmfare, Palak spoke about how her family and Smriti’s family are coping with the recent events and the barrage of trolling directed at her brother.
What did Palak say?
When asked about how she and her family are dealing with the situation, Palak said, “I think the families have been through a very tough time. Like you just said, I would just want to repeat that we would like to believe in positivity at this time. We would like to spread positivity as much as we can. We are also trying to stay strong.”
Palash Muchhal visits Premanand Maharaj
Amid the wedding postponement and the social media storm claiming that Palash Muchhal had been unfaithful, Palash was recently clicked meeting Premanand Maharaj, a spiritual leader in Vrindavan. Photos of him meeting the spiritual leader went viral on social media.
Events unfolded during Palash and Smriti’s wedding festivities
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were set to tie the knot on November 23. The couple and their families had participated in pre-wedding rituals and were even seen dancing together. However, on the wedding day, Smriti’s father fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. Soon after, Palash was also admitted to a hospital. Once Palash and his family returned to Mumbai, social media pages and online forums began claiming that the music composer had been unfaithful.
The rumours gained traction after Smriti deleted all the posts related to her wedding, and members of the Indian cricket team also deleted their posts. Wedding choreographers Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan were dragged into the controversy as the cheating rumours picked up momentum, but they defended themselves and released statements.
Rumours also started circulating that Palash and Smriti had decided to tie the knot on December 7. However, Smriti’s brother Shravan rejected all such claims and told HT, “I have no idea about these rumours. As of now it (the wedding) is still postponed.”
